CITIZENSHIP - APPLICATION TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF POLAND

Documents you need to submit:

  1. an application addressed to the President of the Republic of Poland, made legibly in Polish, on an officially specified form

  1. biometric photo - 1 piece. Photo requirements: 4.5 cm x 3.5 cm color, undamaged photograph taken in the last 6 months on a plain light background, with good focus and clearly showing the eyes and face from top of head to top of shoulders so that the face accounted for 70-80% of the photographs; the photo is to show a person without a hat and dark glasses, looking straight ahead with open eyes, hair not covered, with a natural expression on the face and closed mouth. A person with congenital or acquired visual impairment may attach to the application a photograph showing him wearing glasses with dark lenses, and a person wearing a hat in accordance with the rules of his religion - a photograph showing him in the headgear. The headgear must not cover or distort the oval of the face

  2. the original of the current complete copy of the birth certificate issued by the Polish registry office

  3. the original of a current copy of a complete marriage certificate issued by the Polish registry office (containing relevant annotations in the event of divorce or death of a spouse)

  4. a photocopy of a permit for temporary or permanent residence in Poland, permanent residence or residence permit for a long-term EU resident officially certified by a notary public

  5. officially certified by a notary photocopy of the residence card, certificate of registration of residence of an EU citizen or a family member or a document confirming the right of permanent residence (EU) issued by a voivode

  6. officially certified by a notary a photocopy of a valid document confirming identity and citizenship (e.g. foreign passport, travel document or EU citizen's identity document) - all written pages.

  7. officially certified by a notary a photocopy of a valid document confirming the identity and citizenship of your wife or husband (e.g. passport, travel document or EU citizen identity document) - page with data

  8. officially certified by a notary photocopies of documents confirming your sources of income

  9. officially certified by a notary public photocopies of documents confirming your professional achievements (e.g. academic or professional degrees and titles, creative works, journalism, awards, completed projects) and political and social activity

  10. officially certified by a notary photocopies of your parents' and other preliminary documents, if they had Polish citizenship or Polish nationality,

  11. officially certified by a notary photocopies of documents proving Polish citizenship in the past, its loss and the date of acquisition of foreign citizenship

  12. additional documents that you want to attach, e.g. letters of recommendation,

  13. officially certified by a notary photocopies of Polish passports / ID cards of children and copies of abbreviated birth certificates of children

 

If you exercise parental authority over a minor foreigner, you must attach additionally to the application

  1. biometric photo of a minor meeting the previously described requirements

  2. the original of the current copy of his birth certificate issued by the Polish registry office,

  3. officially certified by a notary a photocopy of a valid document confirming the minor's identity and citizenship (e.g. foreign passport, travel document or EU citizen's identity document)

  4. a photocopy of the decision authorizing the minor to stay in Poland officially certified by a notary public - if it was obtained

  5. a photocopy of the minor's residence card officially certified by a notary - if issued,

  6. a declaration of the other parent on consent to granting a minor Polish citizen, accepted for the record by: the locally competent voivode - if the parent lives in Poland, a Polish consul - from a person residing abroad or staying in Poland on the basis of a visa or visa-free regime. In the case of submitting the declaration before another voivode or consul, you must attach a document confirming this information

  7. a declaration of a minor foreigner who has reached the age of 16 on the consent to be granted Polish citizenship, entered in the protocol by: the locally competent voivode - if the minor resides in Poland, a Polish consul - from a minor residing abroad or staying in Poland on the basis of a visa or on the move visa-free. In the case of submitting the declaration before another voivode or consul, you must attach a document confirming this information

Comments

  1. You submit your application for Polish citizenship in person or by mail (with an officially certified signature) through the voivode or consul competent for your place of residence

  2. If you are staying in Poland illegally or legally on the basis of a visa or in visa-free travel, you can submit the application only through the consul competent for your permanent residence outside of Poland.

  3. Granting Polish citizenship to a minor foreigner takes place only at the consent of his legal representatives (e.g. parents).

  4. You must submit the original marital status records, the remaining documents must be officially certified by a Polish notary

  5. The data contained in Polish marital status records, residence card and foreign passport should be uniform

  6. Documents drawn up in a foreign language are submitted together with their translation into Polish prepared or certified by a sworn translator or a Polish consul

  7. When you apply for Polish citizenship - the validity of your passport or travel document may not be less than 3 months at the time of submitting the application. In addition, you must have a valid passport or travel document at the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland throughout the examination of your application.

Submission of applications and delivery of documents for the legalization of stay and work permits will be possible via the Post Office or courier. Additionally, in the case of work permits, applications can be submitted via the website www.praca.gov.pl

 

Deadline for settling the matter

Forwarding your application for Polish citizenship to the Minister of Affairs

Internal Affairs and Administration with the opinion of the Voivode and a complete set of documents occurs immediately

Additional information

  1. The President of the Republic of Poland grants Polish citizenship or refuses to grant it in the form of resolutions.

  2. The refusal to grant Polish citizenship does not require justification and is not subject to actionable.
